The Company Our client is major blue chip organisation with a huge global presence, over 20,000 employees and a multi billion dollar turnover. They are one of the biggest names in manufacturing bespoke heavy machinery, components and equipment to a range of industries, primarily oil & gas. Due to the commencement of a major international project our client is currently looking for an aftermarket Sales Manager to be based at their specialist engineering, sales and projects offices in London or Aberdeen, selling to massive multinational clients Worldwide.

The Role

Responsible for UK and Scandinavia to market, sell and promote our client's aftermarket products and services.

Manage existing and develop new and profitable business relationships, communicate capabilities and benefits to the customer and clearly communicate their technical requirements to the various Engineering, R&D and Tendering departments within the business.

Calls and/or visits to customers to conduct sales presentations, identify needs, establish buying cycles and to create customer-supplier relationships that provide excellent market intelligence feedback

Work closely with Tendering teams to manage workload while meeting customer expectation in terms of responses

Assist in developing and unlocking any future opportunities from Market Intelligence and customer engineers that are considered to fit the research and development program

Establish sale objectives, develop and be responsible for effective sales forecasts

Develop sales strategies, maintaining and wherever possible, increasing profits and developing alliances with individual accounts

Follow sales cycle from early engagement through tendering, negotiation, order placement, shipment of goods, collection of payment and order close out

Point of contact for problem resolution with customers

The Candidate

The perfect candidate will have an Engineering Degree (ideally mechanical or similar) and experience of selling products into the oil & gas industry. Selling specific aftermarket services and products experience would be highly desirable. However we are also very interested in candidates with a strong engineering background and experience of selling other products into the petrochemical, chemical, process or even aerospace industries. Another alternative would be candidates with a business Degree and strong relevant experience selling similar products into the oil & gas industry. SAP software experience is desirable.

In terms of personality we are looking for professional, dynamic, polished and ambitious sales managers.
