Description: Scottish Power Ltd. is presently looking of Project Manager right now, this position will be placed in Scotland. To project manage major transmission infrastructure projects from initiation through pre construction, site mobilisation, construction and handover to client in a work package delivery model. Directly responsible for all project specific safety, quality, budget and milestone targets. Providing guidance and support to an integrated team whilst managing and delivering £ 20m of annual spend. What does the Job Involve? Responsible for ensuring projects are delivered to specification, programme, within contract price and in accordance with Iberdrola Engineering and Construction (IEC) and client financial authorisation procedures As principle contractor ensure compliance with all Health, Safety & Environmental Regulations Provide accurate capital expenditure forecasts for projects. Manage and report on expenditures using company’s financial tools Responsible for managing a project portfolio of £50 to £70 million and £20 million annual spend Responsible for leading multi-disciplined project teams to deliver major infrastructure projects in a work package delivery model, providing necessary guidance to effectively integrate all packages on site to clients’ satisfaction and milestone requirements Effectively plan and monitor project delivery and the distribution of tasks within the team The control of the tender processes from a project perspective, from client to contractors Actively engage in the procurement process for contract assessment, placement and management Conduct progress, co-ordination and interface meetings with the team, client and contractors Overall control of project programme with respect to engineering coordination, resources, contracts (materials and services) and management of site constraints and limitations Responsible for Team and Contractors compliance with IEC and Client construction and plant specifications standards Ensure availability of project programme indicating key environmental, planning, procurement, design, construction, commissioning and completion milestones Responsible for Team/Project Compliance with IEC and Client Quality Management Systems for ‘Major Projects’ Overall responsibility for client satisfaction during execution of project Approval of commissioning procedures along with client Development of the appropriate procurement strategy in conjunction with Key Account Team â€" Procurement To coordinate engineering requirements for the project and ongoing change management during construction Responsible for presentation of all milestone completion documentation to key account team for submission to client Skills, Knowledge and Experience Engineering degree qualified or equivalent experience Project management ( experience in electrical transmission construction projects) Project risk management and control Communication skills Procurement processes Contract management e.g. FIDIC, NEC, JCT Financial control/forecasting Understanding of and able to implement quality assurance processes Health, safety and environmental legislation applicable to construction projects particularly CDM PC knowledge including Microsoft applications Knowledge of specification, design, maintenance, construction and commissioning of plant, apparatus, control & protection equipment on transmission network Awareness of regulatory issues impacting the business Customer liaison Proven ability to lead and work in a team environment Excellent negotiation skills Team management skills Minimum Criteria Significant experience in managing major construction projects including transmission projects Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline or equivalent experience Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered Engineer status Benefits Information IEC personal contract.
