Job Description
The Sandown Package ! Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production activities delivered for the Sandown Class Output Management (Sandown COM); specifically all work items and packages for Sandown Class Mine Countermeasure Vessels. This includes liaison with all production departments to ensure timely execution of all Support Period Work Packages, as well as unprogrammed/emergent work and expedient reporting of work slippage or non-completion.
The key roles are:
Compile, monitor and report on the progress of package schedules, co-ordinate technical input from other centres and incorporating sub-contract schedules and requirements.
Co-ordinate the dissemination of technical requirements to ensure that production sections are provided with the documentation and technical support required to complete tasks within the scheduled time/cost.
Work in conjunction with relevant Platform Managers, to manage the dissemination of Maintenance Tasks to th! e appropriate production sections, and to monitor progress and! completion of all MTs to time, cost and quality.
Act as the Service Provider's main point of contact, representing the Sandown COM, for the overall management of the package of work.
The postholder will be required to work in HM Naval Base Clyde (Faslane)
Qualifications & Requirements
The applicant will be ideally HND/HNC/BTEC qualified in an Engineering/Technical subject, or have relevant expertise and specialist Naval support knowledge.
Additionally, also have a broad knowledge of naval equipment and systems to enable recognition of risks to vessel availability. An understanding of Reliability Centred Maintenance and through Life Support of Naval Platforms and maintenance processes covering naval platforms.
Security
Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment. The role will be in an environment regulated by Trade Con! trol legislation and involve working with controlled goods, technology and/or services. This may require you to meet enhanced security and regular screening checks.
