What is an overview of the role?
Our client operates more than 30 fields in the UK Continental Shelf. The company operates through two business areas in Aberdeen, Northern and Central Business Areas. Operations and Joint Venture (JV) responsibility is devolved to each area and includes operations, joint venture and financial reporting within the reporting remit. Accenture deliver accounting support at the operations level through embedded Operations Accountants in the Business teams and a dedicated JV Accounting Team.
What is the purpose of the job?
The Operations & Joint Venture Accounting Team Lead is responsible for delivering full accounting support to the respective Client Business area. The post holder has overall responsibility for planning, service delivery, JV accounting, cost management accounting, quality control, operations financial & partner reporting, forecasting and resolving any issues, in conjunction with Client Finance and Operations management.
What are the main accountabilities of the role?
Budgeting:
Co-ordinate the Annual Plan process, including Life of Field data to be completed for respective business area. Prepare detailed reports for management review including variance analysis explaining major costs and variances
Forecasting:
Create, compile and report the Quarterly Reforecast. Including preparation of summaries and Presentation Packs for Management Review
Reporting:
Preparation of monthly financial and JV reporting including supporting commentaries, graphs and analysis
Cost Management Accounting:
Cost tracking, invoice approval, forecasting, order approval and general finance support to operational areas
Overall responsibility for delivery of day to day accounting service to the Central Business Area in accordance with agreed service levels
Responsible for ensuring appropriate controls and processes are in place and are regularly reviewed
Lead team of 7 direct reports and a total team of 11
Staff management, planning, development, coaching and career support for team
What are the dimensions of the role?
Reports to Outsourced Accounting Delivery Manager
Delivers service to Talisman Senior Business Analyst
Responsible for 7 direct reports and a total team of 11
Office location is Talisman House, Holburn Street.
Work with the wider Accenture teams, encouraging knowledge sharing and promoting best practice. Deliver continuous improvement initiatives to Talisman.
Ensure application of standardisation and continuous improvement.
Meet or exceed target service deliverables within the SLA

Qualifications
What skills, knowledge and experience do I need?
Masters' degree (or equivalent) or relevant experience
Qualified accountant with significant industry experience, preferably in an operated Oil industry environment
Proven people management experience essential
Capable of working on own initiative with ability to build and develop excellent client working relationships
Excellent written & verbal communication skills together with strong interpersonal skills with ability to articulate complex business outcomes and drivers.
Working knowledge of SAP is preferred
Innovative - implement and/or support process efficiency initiatives
Proven success in contributing within a team environment
Demonstrated leadership skills
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
Onshore, client-facing experience across a variety of industries
Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
You must be willing to be fully mobile, i.e. prepared to work away from home Monday to Friday as required
