STAFF CUSTOMER QUALITY ENGINEER

The role of the Senior Customer Quality Engineer is to provide technical Quality Engineering leadership; be a subject matter expert in Quality; lead a team, mentor and coach others both within and out with the Quality department; and to help define and drive strategy within the Quality department.
Responsibilities Include:
Work with business partners to drive improvements to product quality.
Help drive quality strategy and initiatives within Complaint Management.
Lead activities to improve complaint management process efficiencies, reducing the cost of poor quality and non-compliance.
Drives continuous improvement strategy, in line with global and cross functional business needs.
Drive significant activities such as: change control and risk management activities, involving global or highly complex interactions.
Use sphere of influence to drive improvements to products & processes.
Is recognised as a Subject Matter Expert in a number of areas. Will play significant part in third party inspections.
Coach/mentor to others within own function and externally.
Has awareness of wider context of people management, such as performance management, calibration, disciplinary, people development strategy.
Qualifications
Required Criteria:
Engineering or Life Sciences degree with experience in a manufacturing environment or suitable experience
Formal Problem solving techniques, e.g. PeX Green Belt
ASQ CQE certification or equivalent
Quality systems
Product & Manufacturing Knowledge
Knowledge of diabetes
Working knowledge of regulatory environment i.e. ISO 13485:2003; 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 14971 and ISO 15197
Risk Management tools e.g. FMEA; SRA; DOE
Statistics
Working knowledge of failure investigation
Working knowledge of databases and query tools
Trouble shooting and problem solving skills
Change Management experience
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience in a Leadership role
Lean experience
