The firm has experienced considerable growth in recent years and now has an exciting opportunity available for a senior Personal Assistant with medical indemnity experience to join its Insurance Law & Litigation group in Melbourne. As a leading provider of legal services to the insurance industry, we have successfully managed and resolved matters for Australia's major insurers for more than 50 years. The group advises and represents insurers in all areas of litigated and non-litigated claims relating to professional indemnity, directors' and officers' liability, property and industrial special risks, public and product liability claims, life insurance, reinsurance and medical negligence.
The role involves providing administrative and secretarial support to a senior associate and two junior lawyers].
Your responsibilities will include:
typing, editing and proof reading letters, memos, briefs and court documents;
preparing briefs to counsel;
drafting basic correspondence;
liaising with clients, lawyers and other staff by telephone and email;
diary management;
preparing monthly client reports and accounts; and
assisting other personal assistants and lawyers as necessary.
To be successful in this role you will ideally have a minimum of 3 years medical indemnity secretarial experience in a law firm, excellent communication skills, meticulous organisational ability, a sharp eye for detail and a confident, polished and enthusiastic approach to work.
