Detailed specification about this vacancy opportunity please read the description below. Scotland's eight Fire and Rescue Services will be merging into a single service from 1 April 2013. Our Board and Chief Officer have be! en appointed and we are now seeking an outstanding Finance and Contractual Services Director to join the Corporate Management team and help shape and develop the new organisation. Your remit will be to provide sound financial advice and leadership, using your strategic management experience to establish supporting systems, processes and structures, and put roles in place to deliver effectively our strategic objectives and enable the Service to achieve all its financial goals. You must be able to demonstrate real achievement in driving successful long and short-term financial plans within a large, complex, ideally public sector, organisation.
You will also advise key services, including Legal, ICT, Property and Assets, which support and influence our front line staff. Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for the development and consolidation of our reputation as a high performing and financially sound organisation, thus helping ensure that Scotland's Fire and Rescue ! Service continues to improve the safety and well-being of the ! people of Scotland.
