The School of Education, Social Work and Community Education is seeking to build on its existing reputation for excellence in teaching and research within the field of education and professional development. We are a multi-disciplinary School located within state-of-the art teaching accommodation on the City Campus at the heart of the University community. We provide innovative and successful undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Teacher Education including the BEd; the MA (Education); the PGDE; the MEd; and the EdD. As a result of the expansion of our teacher education programmes applications are invited for the position of Lecturer in Teacher Education.
Your role will be to develop the expertise of the students in the field of teacher education within one or more of these areas: primary education; language; modern languages; inclusive e! ducation and additional support needs; secondary pupil support! ; professional studies; curriculum studies and educational leadership.
You will also contribute to scholarship, research and related administration.
You will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience teaching in schools with experience across a range of age groups. The level of appointment (e.g. early career lecturer or lecturer) will depend on level of qualifications and professional experience. Three permanent and two fixed term posts are available. We would welcome applications from applicants who wish to undertake a fixed- term post as a one or two year secondment.
