Hotel Overview: Set on a 520 acre estate with a unique coastal setting in the Home of Golf, Fairmont St Andrews is the perfect location to turn any holiday into a treasured memory whilst offering a resort experience steeped in the history of the area and traditions of Scotland. The Resort includes 209 luxurious guest bedrooms, 6 diverse dining outlets, 2 golf courses and a tranquil Spa & Leisure facility.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Together with the Sous Chef or Executive Chef is responsible for the direct supervision over all employees engaged in the kitchen.
In conjunction with the Executive Chef, Establish job methods and supervise on a regular basis, and a correct if necessary, cooking st! andards, to maintain a high quality of food and service on a d! aily basis.
To ensure that training for all kitchen staff, including apprentices is carried out as required by the Executive Chef and to coordinate together with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef training sessions with Chef de Partie and Commis Chef.
In conjunction with the Executive Chef, plan menus and receipts and test samples.
Together with and in the absence of Sous Chef to plan rotas on a 2 weekly basis and to review on a daily basis with the Executive Chef, overtime, rotas and holiday requirements and absenteeism.
Accidents and sicknesses to be written in the accident book according to hotel policy and procedure and reported to the Executive Chef.
Together with and in the absence of the Sous Chef to assist the Executive Chef in interviewing and recruiting staff for the kitchen.
To coordinate fire training and first aid training with the Head Chef.
Together with or in the absence of the Sous Chef to hold a daily and monthly meeting with the ! kitchen staff and report to the Executive Chef.
To maintain good employee relations.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in the Culinary field required
Journeyman’s papers or international equivalent required
DiplomaCertification in a Culinary discipline an asset
Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications an asset
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

Constant standing and walking throughout shift
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps Visa Requirements: Applicants mus! t be eligible to work in the EU or hold a valid work authorisation for ! the UK.
