Description: Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue is in need of Payroll Assistant right now, this vacancy will be placed in Scotland. Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service is recruiting an experienced Payroll Assistant/Technician to complement their existing Payroll Team based at Fire Service Headquarters. The Team is respons! ible for paying both Employees and Pensioners for GMFRS and other Fire & Rescue Services. They must be able to work under pressure in order to meet tight deadlines and have experience in a payroll environment.
Reporting to the Deputy Payroll Manager (Processing) you will be responsible for maintaining all payroll and all associated records for all employees, members and pensioners paid by GMFRS. You are required to have a sound knowledge and an in depth understanding of current legislation affecting payroll.
You will be IT literate, possess accurate keyboard skills and be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office Applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook. In addition, the ability to demonstrate the use of a computerised payroll system would be advantageous.
You will be organised and methodical in your working approach and will have strong numerical skills tied to the ability to maintain a keen eye for detail.
You will possess excellen! t interpersonal and communication skills and be a highly motiv! ated individual who can demonstrate they have the ability to work both in a team environment and on own initiative when required.
