Due to significant projects and capital investment upcoming within the business, we are looking for a Manufacturing Manager to oversee a heavy industry type plant overseeing a site undertaking welding, fabrication and machining services related to the manufacturing of large scale, high value oil & gas industry products.
The Role
To plan and direct man! ufacturing strategy to achieve and enhance projected productio! n output.. To control costs and labour within the budgetary forecast, providing leadership and guidance to maximise individual and collective performance goals in all Manufacturing related disciplines.
Accountabilities
- The control and review of all Manufacturing variances to control expenditure within the projected forecast for all manufacturing departments.
- Maintain and improve the overall performance of the manufacturing unit to achieve projected production schedules, being proactive to customer needs and requirements.
- The control of the workforce within the terms and conditions of employment, regarding rules, procedures and working practices. 24 hours responsibility.
- Provide good industrial relations through effective communications which encourage participation and team spirit.
- Maintain high standards in relation to health and safety, through good housekeeping, organisation, individual awareness and training! to protect the employee and company liability.
- To further develop the quality improvement process through defect prevention, process control and operator training so that continuous improvement is assured.
- Identify and foster positive change throughout the organisation at all levels to achieve increased flexibility in all manufacturing related disciplines.
- The training requirements of Manufacturing personnel focus on current and future demands, multi skills and legal obligations.
- To ensure that manufacturing operations are completed on schedule and to agreed specification.
- Direct responsibility for the industrial engineering function.
- The management and control of all capital expenditures.
Manufacturing or Production Manager with experience of leading a plant undertaking welding, fabrication, machining and similar processes. Ability to facilitate continuous improvement ac! tivities and should also have strong leadership traits allied to excelle! nt interpersonal skills. Six Sigma Green or Black Belt would be beneficial but not essential. Degree would also be desirable but not essential, this person is also likely to have some form of technical or engineering qualification such as mechanical engineering.Is This You?
