Description: A premier investment management firm is currently seeking an experienced Analyst to join their Edinburgh based Green Package Analytics Support team (GPAS). This team is responsible for understa! nding risk analytics on their fixed income, equity and alternatives products to help the company’s clients and portfolio managers understand their portfolio exposures, strategy, risk and returns. This role would suit a computing / maths graduate with circa 1 year experience from financial services or investments. Applicants must have good knowledge of SQL and UNIX.
Core Responsibilities: Tracking the clients’ daily trading activity and understanding the rationale behind their strategiesUnderstand client objectives, trading strategies and market events to effectively respond to client requestsFollowing global markets on a daily basis to understand how macro-economic factors affect the portfolios risks and investment decisionsUse your technical skills to develop in-house tools, and to automate processes with scripts and macros, and to efficiently query information from a vast database. Core Skills: Excellent communication skillsTeam PlayerMust be detail or! ientated, possess initiative and work well under pressure.Enjo! ys a fast-paced, high-intensity environment Core Requirements: Candidate should have a strong interest in Fixed Income, Equities and Derivatives and be keen to gain a working knowledge of these instruments as part of the role if not already familiar with themCandidate must be IT literate and comfortable dealing with data and associated IT processes in the context of a financial infrastructureTechnical skills (JAVA, SQL, PERL & UNIX) are strongly preferred.Experience with Unix and web technologies (HTML, XML/JSON, CSS, Javascript, web-apps) would be very useful.
