The Opportunity
We are now looking to hire a
Rail Business Leader
,
to come and join our team at our remanufacturing Operation in Cumbernauld. Reporting to the General Manager for the ReCon Europe & JV, this position will be responsible for leading the Rail Reman business on behalf of the Engine Business Unit. Having a dotted line relationship to the Plant Manager, this role forms part of the Diesel Recon leadership t! eam.
Activities
- Responsible for dri! ving operational improvement into the rail reman business as well as working with Cummins UK to grow the business over time.
- Drive cycle time improvement, sustainable cost improvement and delivery improvement.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Work with customers and Cummins employees to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
- Translate long-term business strategy into actionable short-term business goals for the organisation.
- Assist the Distribution Business Unit with customer meetings, issue resolution and business development opportunities.
- Work with Purchasing and Manufacturing functions to ensure long-term supply and manufacturing capabilities.
Qualifications
Qualification
College, University or equivalent Engineering Degree qualification is essential.
Skills and Experience Required
- Strong technical/engineering background is essential to facilitate discussions with customers regarding on-going engine development.
- Background in the rail industry would be advantage.
- Experience of remanufacturing operations would be beneficial.
- Experience of supply chain management.
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certified.
- Strong business and development engineering experience.
- Project management skills together with commercial negotiation experience.
- Strong customer-facing aptitude together with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work across various Business Units and Functions.
£44,108 - £47,600 p.a
., Pension Scheme, 12% variable annual bonus, private medical insurance, plus genuine prospects to grow with the business! .
