Job Title: Engineering Supervisor

Location: Hawick / Jedburgh, Scottish Borders

Salary: Circa £30,000 + benefits
Start Date: Immediate

Introduction:
Our client is a well-established manufacturing company specializing in products for the telecommunications industry. Due to continued expansion our client is now looking for a 'Hands on' Engineering Supervisor to be based at their site either in Hawick or Jedburgh, Scottish Borders. You will be responsible for a team of engineer's working in a high volume production plant on reactive and planned preventative plant maintenance tasks. The successful candidate must have demonstrable supervisory experience within a demanding engineering environment.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served as an Engineer, Technician or Mechanic in the Armed Forces i.e. British Army, Royal Navy Marine Engineer, REME or Royal Air Force (RAF) Aircraft Technician and have a strong engineering superv! isory background.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of engineering activities including maintenance, repair and installations to a range of production machinery.
• Machinery will include extrusion machines, water based machines, conveyors, stripping machines and other associated equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical supplies.
• Utilisation of engineers skills and availability to ensure continuity of engineering support to production.
• Ensure equipment is maintained to required standards.
• Update and maintain maintenance records.
• Ensure that equipment is available for production as required.
• Monitor and report on breakdown levels and causes, recommending improvement points.
• Development of engineering personnel including apprentices.

Applicant Requirements:

• The successful candidate must have a strong engineering background with strong supervisory / management ! background.
• You must be a time served engineer, qualified to minimum of HNC or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline.
• Proven knowledge of fault finding and diagnosis on a wide range of Mechanical and electrical equipment / machinery.
• Ability to mentor and coach engineers and apprentices.
• Flexible approach to work.
• Ideally experience with welding and fabrication.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Diplomatic and logical in approach to work.

Benefits:

• Circa £30,000 basic salary per annum.
• Monday â€" Friday 8am â€" 4.30pm
• 33 days annual holiday.
• Company pension scheme available after qualifying period.
