Location: Aberdeen Scotland

Our client is largest UK independent oil producer in the UK North Sea; they focus on undeveloped oil fields and maturing assets in order to turn opportunities into value. Their assets include major new developments and existing producing oil fields.
They are currently recruiting for a Barge Officer for the Northern Producer FPU.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure that marine plant and systems are operated in a safe and efficient manner. You will work on a rotational basis, 1 week offshore / 4 weeks onshore, flying between Aberdeen and Scatsa,

Role and Responsibilities:

  • To monitor weather conditions and wind directions and select the appropriate lifeboats for use in an evacuation, informing CCR
  • Responsibility for all deck and marine operations
  • Responsibility for the line management of the deck team
  • Liaison with the Maintenance Supervisor, allocate marine tasks to the Marine Control Room Operator t! o carry out on Nightshift
  • Ensuring the correct and ac! curate completion of Marine Department Data and reports, including: marine barge logs, vessel movements, weather reports and pontoon tank contents
  • Liaison with team marine regarding SBV routing and v/l visit
  • Ensuring effective communication links with the Deck Foreman regarding vessel activities and transfers
  • Efficient log-keeping system for marine controls
  • Supervision of the loading of fuel/water in accordance with relevant procedures
  • Operating the installation in accordance with the instructions /guidelines provided in the stability operations manual
  • Maintaining vessels tank inspection plan with regards to Ballast and Fuel tanks etc in line with Lloyds requirements
  • Responsibility for Permit to Work, Gas Testing, Risk Assessment and COSHH - CBT
  • Ensuring appropriate operation and maintenance of the mooring system
  • Providing appropriate actions to the OIM on Emergency Response Actions on marine m! atters
  • Liaison with SBV regarding exercise drills involving SBV
  • Preparing and maintaining a planned ballast/deballast sequence in accordance with the stability operations manual
  • Supervising the activities of the Marine Control Room Operator, ensuring marine systems are set and operated within their trip and alarm parameters
Skills and Requirements:
  • Class 1 Masters
  • Previous Semi-sub Experience/FPSO
  • Previous offshore experience
  • Stability 1, 2, 3
  • Manual handling
  • COSHH Assessor
