Section Engineer

A major civil engineering contractor is currently recruiting for Site Engineers and Section Engineer on temporary contracts for their £80m contract in the Shetlands.
The contract is an immediate start for a suitab! le candidate. The initial duration of the contract is 3 months, although the work on this project will be carrying on right through September 2013 so this is a very good opportunity to gain long term freelance employment.
Site Engineers will be responsible for setting out civils, excavations, earthworks, roadworks, drainage and RC structures, ideally someone who has major projects experience. A CSCS Card is required for the Site Engineer role. If you are interested in the Section Engineer role you will be required to hold valid CSCS Card, SMSTS and also First Aid certificates.
Section Engineers will have experience of the above aspects relating to construction but will have oversight for the Site Engineers. Report to a Sub-Agent, attend meetings, deal with H&S paperwork and monitor sub-contractors.
The shift patterns are 16 days working (including Saturday and Sundays), a day at either side of this for travelling home and back to site (paid at 8 h! ours) and 7 days off. Travel from your home to site is paid fo! r, accommodation and food is also provided.
Contract Scotland have a number of freelance workers on the project now and with an increase in the workload the contractor require more staff.
