New role reporting to the Senior P & C Actuary. To suit a recently qualified or Part qualified actuary seeking to work in P & C reinsurance. Three years reserving experience es! sential.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up a reserving function for Bermuda office under established
principles and standards produced by Group Actuarial.
Develop a reserving infrastructure including tools, methods and
systems. Lead reserving function for Bermuda on a quarterly basis.
This will include:
Managing timelines and working to reserving deadlines.
Liaising with underwriters as necessary to gather underwriting
input to reserving process.
Producing independent best estimate forecasts of future
premiums and claims.
Discounting reserves.
Applying Solvency II reserve margins.
Communicating with senior management.
Communicating with Group functions including Risk
and Actuarial functions.
Building technical pricing models for reinsurance classes of
business.
Running pricing models on complex reinsurance accounts to
enable a more informed underwriting decision for these
! accounts.
Analyzing and making recommendations on outwards!
reinsurance structures.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics,
Statistics, or a related field with a mathematical, statistical or
numerate background.
A minimum of 5 years' actuarial experience with at least 3
years of reserving experience.
Extensive knowledge of reinsurance classes, in particular
property classes.
Pricing experience preferred but not essential.
Part or newly qualified under the UK or US actuarial
profession.
Experience of working with underwriters and communicating
to both technical and non-technical audiences.
