Lloyd's Register acquired the ModuSpec Group in 2008 and WEST Engineering Services in 2012, with the aim of expanding their suite of services in the upstream industry and particularly within the drilling industry. Following an extensive LR Energy - Drilling induction, your will continue to be supported by our in-house technical specialists, many of whom are recognized industry experts.
Decades of experience have enabled LR Energy - Drilling to identify, capture and categorize industry critical information which is utilized throughout the business for the benefit of our clients, the business and you as surveyor. In addition, our global operation ensures 24/7 access to unrivalled technical expertise all of which enables you to excel in your field and to advance to your next career level.
Drawing on your extensive electrical operational experience, this key role utilizes your abilities to plan your activities & resources accurately so that your assignment is completed within the agreed timeframe, to consult and build rapport with the client and to build a meticulous a! nd unambiguous inspection report on your findings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct rig acceptance, condition and selection surveys, either independently or as a member of a team.
- Arrange start-up and job close-oput meetins with the client.
- Draw up high quality reports as per Lloyd's Register Energy - Drilling standars in the predermined time schedule.
- Conduct incident investigations, feasibility and maintenance system reviews as per client requirements.
- University level engineering degree, technical certification(s) or comparable other level of knowledge and work experience. Qualifications in petroleum/ marine engineering is an advantage;
- A minimum of at least 10 years working experience in a relevant position in the drilling or marine industry;
- Computer literate;
- Diplomatic and sound interpersonal skills;
- Excellent knowledge of the E! nglish language and ability to communicate effectively (both oral and w! ritten);
- Capable of conducting surveys independently (or capacity to do so in the future);
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team;
- Able to identify defects, determine equipment non-conformities, analyse reasons for major deficiencies and commit the findings to a solid, unambiguous report;
- Professional appearance;
- Capable of decision making, should the necessity arise;
- Knowledge of industry standards such as API, ISO or NORSOK is an advantage.
