Our client, a large company based in Central Scotland, is looking for an on-site support engineer (2nd line) to fill their Technical Specialist vacancy.
The overall role purpose will be:
To deliver infrastructure complex solutions/components/support in accordance with IT strategy and/or provide complex or specialist technical support for infrastructure functions: standard desktops, networks, mainframe, mid-range and E-Business.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Design, develop, build, test, implement, monitor, schedule, or support complex infrastructure components according to standard processes and procedures, to ensure customer requirements/expectations are met.
Liaise with relevant 3rd Parties and suppliers to deliver complex infrastructure components according to timescales, cost, scope, and/or provide technical support to meet service levels.
Provide comprehensive technical advice and guidance to peers and customers as required, including training where necessary.
Document infrastructure deliverables/components according to standards as required, including the update of processes and procedures as necessary.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives including strategic planning and roadmaps, or improve service and cost effectiveness.
Achieve best practice for Infrastructure Services to ensure Infrastructure and support deliverables/ components are consistent with the company strategy and address applicable risk/security considerations.
Provide advice for technical and procedural issues.
Responsibility for leading small work teams, helping to contribute to the identification of training needs of colleagues.
The ideal candidate will have:
General Blackberry Support & Troubleshooting skills
Understanding of BES/BAS Servers
Knowledge of RSA Soft Token installations
Excellent Communication Skills
Excellent Time Management Skills
Flexibility - Must be able to cope with demanding and changing priorities
