Location: Edinburgh Scotland

Our client is a leading brand within the UK financial services and banking sector which is renowned for its efficient processes, accessible products/services and strong inter-division collaboration.

The Senior PMO Manager within Finance COO will lead, direct and control a team to provide the governance, reporting, planning and support services for Finance Change, optimising PMO resources across the programme/projects whilst embedding common PMO methodologies, tools and processes to ensure effective delivery within cost, quality and timescale objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Portfolio Management:
Working with Functional Leaders/Programme Managers to shape investment portfolio from a business vision into a clearly defined roadmap

  • Working with Divisional and Group PMO functions:
Securing investment budget to support portfolio plan delivery
  • Programme/Project Set Up and Closure:
Ensuring all Business Case, Project Management Report (PMR) and Authority to Proceed (ATP) documentation is produced to Group Standards
Ensuring effective close down of programmes and projects
  • Governance and Reporting:
Working closely with Accountable Executives and Programme Managers to provide regular status reporting, milestone plans and solutions driven contingency plans (individual programmes and cross-portfolio)
  • Monitoring and Control:
Defining, embedding and managing appropriate change governance following Group Change Policy and using best practice control processes
  • Planning:
Defining and implementing the overall planning approach, obtaining acceptance and buy-in to the approach from all stakeholders and ensuring planning standards and guidelines are adhered to across programme(s)
  • Resource Management:
Managing the overall resourcing of the portfolio/programme including forward demand planning, capability assessment and recruitment and quality and cost management of external resource
  • Finance:
Ensuring the maintenance of financial oversight across all projects / programmes to ensure delivery to cost and benefit
  • Stakeholder Management:
Empowering senior management, through the provision of timely information, insight and interaction, to effectively manage the successful delivery of the change agenda
  • Internal / External Relationships:
Building/maintaining external/internal networks to identify best practice and to build the! profile of the PMO and change management community
  • People! and Self Development:
Leading/motivating/developing team to create high performance
Contributing to development/performance of wider PMO community, eg identifying opportunities for colleagues in line with future skill and resourcing requirements, sharing best practice approaches
  • Risk:
Ongoing evaluation of programmes/projects for financial, risk and regulatory compliance and progress to plan and engaging with diverse group of stakeholders (typically up to and including Executive level) to highlight issues arising and influence appropriate actions
