STA Travelâs core customer is typically someone under 35 taking a gap year between school and university or post University. They maybe travelling away from home for the first time and looking to tour with groups, or they maybe a more experienced solo traveller looking for that unique experience trip that none of their friends has made. They maybe travelling for two weeks, a summer or 12 months plus. The exciting aspect is that no one request is the same.
Our Travel Experts work with our full range of products to meet or exceed our customer needs and work towards their personal and team sales targets.
As an Apprentice Travel Expert in Store you will be developing these skills from day one. We will give you support with intensive on and off the job training, a Store Manager, our training team and mentor support but we will also expect you to get stuck in and enjoy the learning curve.
All our Apprentices nationwide work towards an NVQ (level 2 or 3) and a Certificate in Travel Services (level 2 or 3) over the 12-18 month programme so not only will you have practical on the job training but you will have some recognition of that learning at the end of your apprenticeship. All roles are permanent too so at the end of the programme you will be a valued member of the team.
Key Responsibilities in your role will include:
- Delivering sales results in accordance to managerial expectations and company targets by selling the entire range of STA Travel preferred product
- To be continually developing product and destinational knowledge.
- Provide a level of customer service to all clients that differentiate STA Travel from our direct competitors.
- Assist in the day to day administrative duties within the branch.
- Working within STA best practice guidelines
- Great organisation skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
- The Travel Expert role is a sales role so you will be someone who will be motivated by working to a personal target and not give up when you are having a quieter day, a âcan doâ attitude to targets.
- Good communication skills and the ability to portray a professional and positive attitude with colleagues and customers.
- A team player who enjoys a challenge, and able to work under own initiative.
