Summary:
This position is the first level in the Software Quality Assurance career path. Incumbents in this position work as part of a project team to develop and deliver commercial software products for external and internal use. Incumbent has general knowledge and experience in IT and working knowledge of one or more technologies such as Web Se! rvices, Java, .Net, Graphical User Interface, spatial technolo! gies or database technologies. Incumbent has knowledge across a spectrum of programming languages and techniques, testing methodologies, automated testing tools and applies both existing and new technologies in developing solutions.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to join an experienced team of developers and testers on a newly created, mission critical project for the company. The web based product will provide a wealth of detailed fiscal information to the worldwide Oil and Gas industry.

General Job Duties:
Under guidance, participate as part of a project team to test and measure quality of products developed in support of the portfolio management process.

Specific Job Duties:
Use the Agile testing methodology to ensure application is thoroughly tested throughout development and before release.

Provide input in establishing program and/or project budget and timelines.

Monitor and report to manageme! nt on project status, identify issues that may impede attainment of project goals, recommend and implement corrective measures.

Work closely with developers in an Agile environment to understand and refine requirements and convert these requirements into documented testcases.

Collaborate with other team members to manage defects through from discovery to closure effectively.

Continuously expand knowledge in area of specialization.

Contribute positively to global testing effort on large, critical IHS product(s), including the production of test plans, testing strategies, testcases, status reporting, and hands on test execution.

Assist with test automation scripts in an Agile environment

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelors in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.

Required Experience:
Experience in software test o! r software development.

Experienced in testing web-based appli! cations in a commercial environment

Knowledge of one or more high level programming languages.

Knowledge of one or more technologies (e.g., Web, Java, .Net, Graphical User Interface, spatial technologies).

Stays current with rapidly changing technology and applies it to business needs.

Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.

Knowledge of one or more Automation or Performance Tools (e.g., Selenium, Microsoft Visual Studio, etc.) is desirable

Previous experience with load and performance testing is desirable.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience of test planning documentation and defect tracking systems.

Must be able to work effectively as part of a project/program team and foster team cooperation.

Understanding of the Agile project management and development methodologies is desirable.

Some knowle! dge of the Oil and Gas industry, GIS systems or financial modelling tools would be an advantage.

Professional certification as warranted.
