Principal/ Associate Structural Engineer

Our Client is a leading international engineering and environmental consultancy, providing multi-disciplinary consultancy services to the property, infrastructure,! energy and environmental markets around the world.
They are currently looking for a Principal/ Associate Structural Engineer to join their Edinburgh office. The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to take charge of a healthy pipeline of high profile projects in a wide variety of sectors, including education, retail and hotels.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Experience in and awareness of bridge design and assessment of abnormal loads
Working knowledge of Eurocodes
Experience in the use of structural analysis and design software
Extensive experience in the field of structural design and delivery across a range of medium to large scale projects and/or building types
Working knowledge related to soil structure interaction and geotechnical engineering
Proven experience of client liaison (e.g meetings, presentations) and key account management/ relationship development
Excellent verbal and written communic! ation skills with the ability to generate and technically revi! ew reports
Experience of working with and managing project teams and, where necessary, acting as lead designer
Ability to work to deadlines, within budget and to programme, to control costs and to effectively manage resources and change control
Proven ability to actively seek new commercial opportunities would be an advantage, along with knowledge of the local market
Qualifications / Experience:
Degree qualified in Structural Engineering
Chartered Engineer with ICE or IStructE and preferably SER certified
Able to quickly develop successful client relationships
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
Full UK driving license
The successful candidate will be an excellent team player and have a proactive and positive attitude towards working under pressure and team mentoring.
