Location: Swinton Scotland

Description: Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue is looking of Service Desk Analyst (Temporary) right now, this job will be placed in Scotland. As a Service Desk Analyst with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, your support wonÂ't just keep our ICT systems running smoothly. ItÂ'll enable us to respond quickly and effec! tively to the countless emergency calls we receive - quite literally making the difference between life and death. So it goes without saying that in our environment, thereÂ's never a dull moment.

WeÂ're the largest Fire and Rescue service outside London, serving around 2.5 million people - with around 2,200 members of staff across more than 50 GMFRS locations including fire stations, control centre and Fire Service HQ. And every single one of them needs to be supported by the best, most seamlessly efficient and leading-edge ICT services. YouÂ'll make sure this happens, as you:

• Join a fast moving Service Desk team providing centralised support for all ICT related incidents and requests.

• Visit GMFRS and partner agency sites as needed, where youÂ'll personally liaise and interact with customers.

• Assist in every area - from sorting out printer problems to supporting our vital communication systems, youÂ'll be involved in it all.

• Face fresh, unpredictable challenges every day.
• Work on a rota basis Monday to Friday, between 07.15 am and 5.30 pm.

• Weekend work as per rota.

• Make a real difference to our Organisation and the Public.

This is a key, customer facing role which will have a positive impact across our Organisation.

So weÂ're looking for someone with exceptional skills, including:

• ITIL foundation qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role.

• Impressive track record of equipment set-up, installation and IT configuration

• Friendly, professional phone manner and excellent customer service skills

• Good working knowledge of MS Office applications and Active Directory

• experience of administering login accounts

• Logical, can-do approach to problem-solving.

• Ability to thrive under pressure.

• Full driving licence.

You will be working in a fast-moving pressurised environment where delivery and! results really matter. But more than that, you will be making a real difference helping to safeguard the wider community of Greater Manchester.
