To effectively manage Aberdeen workshop activities and personnel to meet the relevant timescales and project requirements.
Job scope (budget, management, specific crit! eria):
To ensure equipment is correctly mobilised to given timescales
To ensure that jobs are performed in accordance with MOS and industry standards
To provide leadership and direction regarding all aspects of Quality Health Safety & Environment
To verify the quality of work performed in workshop
To ensure excellent housekeeping is maintained in the workshop and surrounding yard areas
To ensure all work is carried out in accordance with ISSOW Worksafe
To review competence level and training requirements all workshop personnel, ensuring that all necessary skills are retained within the team to support requirements
To maintain good working relationships within the workshop and equipment departments
Responsible for the welfare and training of apprentices
Ensure COSHH procedure is adhered to in workshop
Ensure that all works undertaken are executed / controlled such that demonstra! ble levels of assurance are included. This includes QA documen! tation, QC documentation, inspection reports etc...
To ensure equipment is correctly demobilised once it returns from offshore and all defects reported accordingly
To actively encourage workshop personnel to suggest improvement initiatives and actively promote / implement change to improve any aspect of the workshop.
Undertake any other duties as requested by the Equipment Superintendent
Typical background and experience required:
Must have:
Secondary school education
Relevant trade qualifications
5-10 years experience of maintenance of offshore equipment including hydraulic, electrical and electronic knowledge.
Reinforce and strengthen the HSES culture at every opportunity in operations and projects.
Promote correct HSES behaviours through personal example.
Take action upon any health, safety, security and environmental matter brought to their notice, and report to their ! Manager on any matter which they are unable to rectify.
Nice to have:
College education
Offshore working experience
Lead by example in demonstrating the correct behaviour in implementing all HSES programmes.
Recognise the 'ownership' of health, safety and environmental control within their sphere of activity and lead by example.
Require reporting Supervisors to demonstrate effective control over health, safety, security and environmental responsibilities.
Required for position:
Ability to be self-motivated as well as being a team player
Ability to lead change initiatives and promote safety leadership
