Cost Management Accountant

As a Cost Management Accountant
the key aspects and responsibilities of your role will be:
To Provide support to the preparation of annual budgets, life of field models, quarterly re-forecasts and estimating of Studies, Modifications, Ad Hoc Labour, Core Crew & Training and Facilities Capex workscopes
Monitor costs, providing appropriate level of reporting to Engineering and Operations Managers
Monitor commitments, ensure appropriate invoice approval and correct allocation of costs. Acts as focal point for cost and invoice management, reconciliation and approval within the Engineering and Operations Department
Update of cost forecast (Infocore) for cost centres under your area of responsibility
As part! of invoice review, actively query and, where appropriate, cha! llenge costs
Qualifications
What qualifications, skills and capabilities are we looking for?
University degree
Qualified Accountant (preferred)
Proven industry Cost Control experience
Oil Industry, Joint Venture experience and associated management accounting skills preferred
Good Microsoft office skills are essential
Computerised planning experience preferred and be capable of solving both system and operational problems
Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff essential
Ability to influence management through verbal and written communication
Highly organised individual
Enthusiastic, self motivated and innovative approach to work responsibilities, identifying and resolving issues
A self starter with the drive to succeed
Analytical approach with ability to interpret and articulate results
Proactive, requiring mi! nimum supervision
The ability to work under pressure
The ability to work as part of a team and be flexible
Onshore, client-facing experience across a variety of industries
Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
You must be willing to be fully mobile, i.e. prepared to work away from home Monday to Friday as 10% travel may be required
Reporting to the CBA Operations Accounting Team Leader and the CBA Senior Business Analyst, the key duties of the Cost Accountant are to provide finance support to the Engineering and Operations management through budget preparation, management and cost reporting and forecasting, and control of vendor invoices received by the Engineering and Operations departments including liaison within the Engineering department and Accounts Processing.
