Within Balfour Beatty we have opp! ortunities to join a BEng (Hons) Block Release Programme in Building Services Engineering that provides an industry-leading opportunity to gain both a degree and gain excellent work experience over a four year period.
You will both earn and learn, spending around 12-15 weeks in any year studying and the rest of the year in the workplace.
On completion you will be able to build up your experience to become an Incorporated Engineer with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineering or a Chartered Surveyor with the RICS.
About the programme
Over the four year programme you will spend blocks of time studying in Liverpool towards your degree, interspersed with time working on some of the UK’s most sophisticated construction projects.
As a Building Services Engineer you will have responsibility for ensuring that a building’s mechanical and electrical systems operate efficiently and sustainably as designed. You will ensur! e that they are installed safely, to strict deadlines, within ! budget and to our customers’ exacting requirements.
Whilst studying on block release you will gain nationally recognised qualifications that will support your work experience and enable you to contribute to the business very quickly.
Your first year will be spent gaining experience in electrical, mechanical and commercial activities before you specialise in one of these areas for the remainder of the scheme.

R! equirements To be considered for this Traineeship, you’ll have at least:
Five GCSE/Standard Grades at Grade C or above, including English, Science and Maths (Grade B required) or have completed an apprenticeship or A-levels or Highers
Good communication skills
Good team working skills
Have the ambition and motivation to work within the building services industry
During the recruitment process you will be required to complete a number of aptitude tests and attend an assessment centre and interview.
